Who We Are

The mission of Healthcare for Homeless is to provide various healthcare services to the homeless community in the Los Angeles area.

People experiencing homelessness face far greater health risks: chronic illness, infections, mental-health issues, and injuries. According to the UCLA Health Homeless Healthcare Collaborative, “living on the streets can take more than 20 years off of one’s life” and that many medical issues could be prevented or treated more effectively with outreach care. Our club works to help bridge the gap between the “usual” healthcare system and the people most in need of access.

Our club is dedicated to supporting the health of people experiencing homelessness by helping close the gap in access to vital medical and social services, building trust through outreach that meets individuals where they are, and promoting dignity and compassionate care. Our students gain firsthand understanding of the social and economic factors that influence health, growing into more empathetic leaders and future professionals who recognize the value of prevention, advocacy, and human connection. Our goal is to empower students to take part in meaningful efforts to improve lives and advance health equity for all.
